For some strange reason, I find the sight of a vacant seat in a public place quite inspirational. Not in the sense of inspiring me to greatness, but in the sense of conjuring up a mood and firing my imagination.

That's why whenever I see an empty bench I take a photo of it, in case I wish to write about it later, or use it to illustrate a point.
