That’s right! I write about literature, life in general, odd things that have happened, the odd bit of fiction, experimental writing. Basically, anything that takes my fancy. My tastes, you might say, are eclectic, which is why I called my Substack newsletter Eclecticism.
Articles I’m working on at the moment include ones about cafés I have known, though not necessarily loved, plagiarism, and jazz. Topics I’ve recently written about include James Joyce’s Ulysses and death, Sherlock Holmes and my North Thames Gas saga. I’ve also been writing reviews of books that are not to do with writing.
Please have a look at the newsletter, and if you like the look of it think about subscribing. It’s mostly free, but there’s also a paid option. If you’re fairly sure already that you’d like to subscribe, you can do that right here! I have a double opt-in system in place, meaning that you’ll receive an email asking if you’re sure. If that doesn’t come within a few minutes, check your junk folder.
The photo for this article on the front page of this website was taken at a conference dance in Boston in 2005., and it has absolutely nothing to do with the subject of the topic in question. I told you my interests are eclectic.
