Not long to go now till the London Book Fair, which runs from 12th to the 14th March 2019. The seminar program is up now. I’ve only looked at the Author HQ listings so far. The Author HQ is the go-to place for self-publishers.
A few good-looking sessions that caught my eye are:
Turning yourself into a brand, chaired by Sam Missingham
Publishing trends in 2018, from Nielsen
And a new thing called the Book Brunch Selfie Awards. Here’s the blurb:
BookBrunch, in collaboration with the London Book Fair, is launching The Selfies, an awards scheme for self-published authors. The aim of the award, which taps into one of the fast-growing areas of the book market, is to discover new talent and recognise the best self-published titles each year. In the first year, the awards will be for adult fiction titles only, but in future years it will cover further categories. The winner will be announced on at London Book Fair Author HQ with the winner receiving a cheque for £1,000 and a profile in BookBrunch.
Last year, the London Book Fair launched the Book Bloggers Awards, so this is another exciting development.
It’s a good idea to register, because then you can save your favourite sessions online. You can also add the sessions you want to attend to a calendar, although that functionality doesn’t appear to be in place yet.
That’s all for now!
