Yesterday, I evaluated the experience of listening to documents on the Kindle Fire. I found it very useful on the whole, so today I extended the practice by listening to a document while driving. Here’s what I found:
First, because I was reading a non-fiction book, and prioritised concentrating on the roads, I didn’t take in everything. That is to say, I let some of the content wash over me, and contented myself with getting the general drift rather than the detail.
Secondly, it was difficult to hear over traffic noise if I had the window open.
Thirdly, each time the position of the Kindle was dislodged, it stopped playing.
Therefore, listening to a document on the Kindle Fire is not ideal.
